Source: Jerraud Powers of Indianapolis Colts has surgery on broken arm

It is not yet known if Powers will be placed on injured reserve or if the Colts are holding out hope he can play again this season.

But he certainly will be unavailable Thursday night in Nashville when the Titans are expected to get receiver back in the lineup after a four-game layoff with a hamstring injury.

The team’s other starting cornerback, , missed last week’s loss to Dallas with a neck injury. The team said he would not have practiced Monday if the Colts were on the field, but they had a day off.

Colts coach Jim Caldwell told Nashville media on a conference call that the team would issue a press release regarding Powers’ situation Tuesday afternoon.

“We’re kind of waiting to see how things are going with the surgery and then we’ll make an announcement after that,” he said.

The injury-ravaged Colts have lost tight end and safety for the season, and are awaiting the returns of running back , receiver and linebacker .

They carry a three-game losing streak into . The Titans have lost five in a row.
